Snider Consulting Group accepts new analysts every Fall and Spring, with recruitment taking place during the first month of the semester. Eligible applicants are academically eligible undergraduate students at the University of Maryland with five or more semesters before their graduation date. This includes semesters from a Plus-1, MS/A, or MBA program.
SCG is currently partnered with Ernst & Young (EY). As a part of the onboarding process, new analysts will engage in numerous faculty and EY-led workshops to enhance their consulting expertise and work on benchmarking analysis for the remainder of the semester. After establishing a foundation of management consulting knowledge and understanding SCG's inner operations, new members join the ranks as consultants and tackle client projects in the upcoming term. Analysts typically stay for five or more semesters, gaining extensive experience throughout their time in the organization.
All SCG Analysts complete an intensive 10-week professional development program originally designed by SCG members and alumni at Bain and Capital One. The program includes small group and one-on-one training to enhance each Analyst's consulting prowess and career readiness.
Each semester members have a multitude of opportunities to interact with SCG alumni from EY, Deloitte, Capital One, Bain, and many other firms. Members connect with our active alumni network through site visits, workshops, social events, mentorship programs, and numerous informal opportunities to interact.
Our mission at the Snider Consulting Group is to give back to communities we serve through client projects with non-profit clubs, institutions, and companies while helping our members achieve their highest career ambitions. Members have the option to choose from several compelling projects on and off campus each semester that are selected for their ability to develop in-demand skills and create a lasting positive impact.
SCG has been a proud partner of Ernst & Young for over four years. The partnership gives SCG members unbridled access to career advice, project support, and mentorship as well as exclusive workshops and events hosted with EY.
Members enjoy a variety of social events each semester that offer an opportunity to unwind and connect through a fun activity.
All academically eligible students at the University of Maryland with five or more semesters before graduation may be considered. This includes semesters from a Plus-1, MS/A, or MBA program.
SCG is 100% free to join. We are funded by the generous support of the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets and our alumni.
SCG’s clients are on-campus organizations, so our members get to enact permanent and impactful change in the UMD community they are a part of. SCG also partners with Ernst & Young Consulting – ranked #6 on Vault’s list of Most Prestigious Consulting Firms for 2021.
SCG has no set limit on the number of analysts taken on every semester. However, SCG is an intentionally small and close-knit community. Candidates are prioritized based on their demonstrated academic and professional accomplishments as well as their overall fit with the organization.
Absolutely. In fact, we encourage previous applicants to reapply if they are still interested and eligible.
